Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Notice covers the http://www.usfoodsafety.com website (the "Site") and explains our online information practices. The provisions of this notice apply to the following information collected or submitted to us:
- Information required by a registration process;
- Information you submit using the various contact forms of the Site; and
- Information that we otherwise request.
Like most website operators, we automatically collect and store information in log files. This information includes the name of the domain and host from which you access the internet, the Internet Protocol ("IP") address of the computer you are using, the browser software you use and your operating system, the date and time you access the Site, the pages you visit and the amount of time you view each page. This information is saved on our server only as anonymous data; we do not use it to track or record information about individuals.
We also collection information about you through your inquiries using the Contact Us page of the Site.
In connection with registering for a subscription service or participating in a blog or any other on-line public area available on the Site (collectively, the "Public Areas"), you will be asked to provide the following information:
- Your e-mail address;
- Your zip code; and
- Your age range and gender.
We use information collected in our log files to better design the Site. We may share such anonymous aggregate information with advertisers. For example, we may tell an advertiser that X number of individuals visited a certain area on the Site but we would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.
Except as otherwise expressly set forth herein, information you submit on the Contact Us form will only be used to respond to your inquiry.
Except as otherwise expressly set forth herein, any information you share in connection with the registration process shall be used solely to administer and operate the applicable subscribed service or Public Area and to communicate with you regarding such service or Public Area unless you "opt in" to receive special offers and promotions from us.
We may disclose your information in the following circumstances:
- In response to legal process such as a court order or subpoena; or
We have no obligation to provide you with notice that we have disclosed your information.
Our operations and maintenance contractors sometimes have limited access to your information in the course of providing products or services to us. These contractors include vendors and suppliers that provide us with technology, services, and/or content for the operation and maintenance of the Site. If you have registered for a subscription service or to participate in a Public Area and/or have "opted in" to receive special offers and promotions from us, these contractors also may have access to your email address to send subscription materials, notices, special offers or promotions to you on our behalf. Access to your information by these contractors is limited to the information reasonably necessary for the contractor to perform its limited function for us. We also contractually require that our operations and maintenance contractors to (1) protect the privacy of your personal information consistent with this Privacy Notice and (2) not use or disclose your personal information for any purpose other than provides us with products and services or as required by law.
We do not provide any of your information to these third-party ad servers or ad networks without your consent or except as part of a specific program or feature for which you will have the ability to "opt-in" or "opt-out." However, please note that if an advertiser asks us to show an advertisement to a certain audience (for example, men ages 18-34) or audience segment (for example, men ages 18-24 who have viewed certain channels of content) and you respond to that advertisement, the advertiser or ad-server may conclude that you fit the description of the audience they are trying to reach. The advertiser may also use information regarding your use of the Site, such as the number of times you viewed an ad (but not any personally identifiable information), to determine which ads to deliver to you.
We will likely transfer information about you if we are acquired by or merged with another company or in the case of the sale of all or substantially all of our assets.
To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information from those we actually know are under 13 years of age, and no part of the Site is structured to attract anyone under the age of 13.
To better safeguard your information, you are not able to access personally identifiable information that you enter online.
You can delete any of your information or correct factual errors in your information by sending us a request, in writing at the address specified in the Section below entitled: "How to Contact us." To protect your privacy and security, we will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before deleting your information or making corrections to your information.
Upon your request, we will delete your information from our active databases and where feasible from our back-up media. You should be aware that it is not technologically possible to remove each and every record of the information you have provided to us from our servers.
From time to time you will be given the choice as to whether or not you consent to receive special offers and promotions from us and/or third parties. Unless you give us your consent to use your information for these purposes, we and our partners will only use it to provide the service or product you have requested. If you indicate that you consent to receive communications or solicitations, but you later change your mind, you can revise your preferences.
