West Best Foods Lasagna Allergy Alerts and Recalls

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that West Best Foods, a Las Vegas, Nevada establishment, is recalling approximately 13,776 pounds of lasagna products because of misbranding and an undeclared allergen. The product contains soy a food allergen that is not declared on the label.
The products subject to recall are 24 lb. cases of West Best Foods Inc Lasagna with Meat Sauce and 24 lb. cases of West Best Foods Inc Deluxe Beef Lasagna.
The products bear the establishment number "EST. 6080" inside the USDA mark of inspection. The lasagnas were produced between April 13, 2012, and May 21, 2012, and were distributed to hotels and one distributor in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The problem was discovered during a routine food safety assessment and may have occurred as a result of a change in an ingredient formulation used in the lasagna.
FSIS and the company have not received reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these lasagnas. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a health care provider.
