Sunrise Indian Corn Allergy Alert and Recall

Mount Franklin Foods is recalling one lot of Sunrise Indian Corn because the candy contains undeclared milk a food allergen and sulfites. People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk can run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.
The recall affects Sunrise Indian Corn Candy which is packaged in 16 oz. clear plastic tubs with Best By date of MAR 26 2013 and with Lot # 2321811. The Best By date and Lot Number are printed on the bottom label of the tub. This lot had UPC 0-76500-16651-5.
The products were distributed in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and Florida, only through Albertson’s retail stores between the dates of 7/3/2012 and 7/5/2012.
There have been no reports of injuries or illnesses reported to date.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the Chocolate flavor used in the affected lot contained nonfat dry milk and sulfites which was not declared on the label.
Consumers who purchased the recalled Sunrise Indian Corn are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact Mount Franklin Foods at 1-800-685-1475 ext 1111, Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mountain time.
